Small Log Processing Systems

SL2200 Small Log Processor

SL2200 Small Log Processor ImageThe SL2200 is designed to generate optimized solutions for ready-to-trim lumber and quality chips. Once scanned, the log turner's tandem rolls firmly control the log, while turning it for sweep or ovality at high speed. Vertical centering rolls and pre-positioned differential hourglass rolls center and secure the log for transport through the infeed. Contact is maintained as it travels thru linear-actuated side chipping heads. Steering feed chains provide solid 3-point curve control for increased recovery.

Features include:
  • Accommodates logs 3-1/2" to 12" diameter, 8' - 20' long
  • Auto-rotate conveyor with a single true shape scanner
  • Profiling chip heads with optional independent positioning accommodate variable product sizes
  • Thin kerf vertical arbor shifting saw section can have multiple saw zones for increased product flexibility
  • Saw banks shift clear for processing timbers
  • Can process plywood peeler cores
  • Fully integrated Coe Newnes/McGehee optimization and controls

SL2500 Small Log Processor

The SL2500 features the unique, patented RoboGang™ vertical arbor curve sawing gang. The single true-shape scanner makes the rotation and cut decisions. The vertical 4-roll turner accurately turns the logs 'horns' down. Side chipping heads produce high quality chips, and create a good surface finish. Profiling allows top and bottom boards to be offset, if required. Logs are shape sawn to suit the sweep of each log, with either 6" or 8" VSA RoboGang™ saws. The finished lumber requires only end trimming.

SL3000 Breakdown System

The SL3000 is a more compact log breakdown system, relying on a single scanner to generate both the rotation and cutting decisions. Output is cants and flitches with a canter twin or quad, depending on log size.
